Q1: Will my family get CITIZENSHIP?
A: Yes. You, your spouse (wife or husband) and dependents (your children under the age of 18, on the application date) can get citizenship. Turkish law does not recognize same-sex marriages, polygamy and other types of partnerships. So, a spouse should be a person of opposite sex and the couple should be legally married.
Q2: If the property I buy is not worth 250,000 USD, can I buy several properties to fulfil the 250,000 USD limit?
A: You can buy several properties which have a total value of at least 250,000 USD. The values declared at the sale at Property Registry Office and appraisal values should be consistent with that value. If the transaction is made in Turkish Lira or other currency, daily currency rate of the Turkish Central Bank at the date of title transfer will be used to calculate the USD value of the property or properties.
Q3: How long does it take to become a CITIZEN?
A: After the property is bought and the application is filed, it takes between 3 to 6 months to get the citizenship and Turkish passport. Government is eager to reduce time.
Q4: May I buy commercial properties with rental income and get CITIZENSHIP by investment?
A: Yes, any property you buy is counted. You can rent the properties to someone else. The only restriction is you cannot sell for three years.
Q5: Is it mandatory to buy property by USD? And does the money have to be sent from abroad?
A: No, its not obligatory to send money by USD and it does not have to be sent from abroad.
Q6: How will the sale cost of the real estate be paid?
A: The purchase price of real estate between the buyer and the seller must be paid through banks and should be provable by receipt of bank.
Q7: Can the real estate be sold before 3 years have passed?
A: It is not possible to sell without completing its 3rd year. After 3rd year owner will be able to sell his/her property

A: If your child is incapable of taking care of him/herself, they can become CITIZENs with their parents' application provided that their situation is documented by health reports.
Q15: Is it possible to have dual nationality in Turkey?
A: Yes, Turkey allows dual nationality, as long as your original country allows it. If you are a citizen of a country which does not allow dual citizenship, you need to forfeit your original citizenship. But if your original country allows dual citizenship, you can have dual citizenship.
Q16: Is there any minimum or maximum limit to the extent of time when foreigners will obtain land for citizenship or other purposes?

A: According to the planned installment payment plan, the customer can apply for citizenship from the date when the instalments ended, and the payment of 250,000 USD was paid.
Q19: In order to apply for citizenship, the customer needs to pay the amount of immovable property purchased in one time/single transaction?
A: The customer does not have to pay the price of one or more real estates in a single transaction to apply for citizenship. An instalment payment plan can also be foreseen. In this case, it is required to have the instalments dated 19.09.2018 and after this date. If a person buys immovable property from a single project or more than one project, it does not make any difference.
Single transaction condition to be obligatory only in case of applications made by the foreigner through the promise of real estate sales contract. In the applications made through the sale promise contract, the sales contract and the payments must be dated 07.12.2018 and after this date and the 250,000 USD must be paid in single transaction at the specified date range.
